Stand Behind Those Who Served
New Zealand's veteran community is large, diverse, and too often unseen. SSAANZ exists to close the gap that opens when service ends, through connection, outdoor challenge, and practical support that rebuilds purpose, fitness, and camaraderie.
A partnership with SSAANZ is a credible and genuinely meaningful way for your organisation to back New Zealand's service community — values-aligned investment with real community outcomes, strong storytelling, and direct opportunities for your people to take part.
Why Partner With SSAANZ?
- Reputation by association — Align your brand with a respected, veteran-led cause that New Zealanders instinctively support.
- Substance for your ESG and community reporting — Measurable wellbeing impact, not a logo on a wall.
- Employee engagement — Team entries to our flagship event, volunteer days, and veteran speakers for your workplace.
- Authentic content — Co-branded impact stories drawn from real events and real outcomes.
- National reach — A growing events calendar and a flagship event with national profile.
- Digital exposure — Repeated visibility inside the RV app, our members-only app, to an audience that opens it every week.
Three Ways to Partner
01 — Annual Partnership
Ongoing, whole-of-organisation support across four tiers. The simplest way to build a lasting relationship and unlock the full benefit set.
02 — Survival Traverse Sponsorship
Back our flagship event directly, from naming partner through to checkpoint sponsor, for concentrated visibility around a single national moment.
03 — In-Kind Partnership
Contribute gear, services, venues, transport, or expertise. Recognised at the equivalent cash tier and a strong first step into the programme.
Partnerships can be combined, and multi-year commitments are encouraged and rewarded. Every tier also includes digital exposure through the RV app.
Partnership Levels at a Glance
Element
$500/yr
Entry-level support for businesses that want to stand with the cause and be recognised for it — built with SMEs' budgets in mind.
Sub-Unit
$1,500/yr
Greater visibility plus a team place at the Survival Traverse and a seat at the partners' briefing. Funds the core delivery costs of a local event.
Unit
$6,000/yr
(negotiable upward)
A working partnership with employee engagement, a co-branded story, and a named contact. Funds three fully subsidised Rest Stand Clear (RSC) places. Several partners have grown this tier from an initial $5,000 to around $15,000 once they've seen the impact firsthand.
Formation
$20,000+/yr
Principal partner. Category exclusivity, top billing, a feature video, and tailored impact reporting. Funds ten fully subsidised RSC places — fully open, negotiated with larger corporates.
All amounts in NZD, exclusive of GST (GST/tax treatment of sponsorship income to be confirmed with SSAANZ's accountant). Full benefit breakdown available in our Corporate Partnership Programme download below.
The Impact of Your Support
Survival Traverse Sponsorship
Back our flagship event directly, for a concentrated burst of visibility around a single national moment. Can stand alone or layer on top of an annual partnership.
Presenting Partner
$15,000–$20,000
(one only)
Naming rights (“Survival Traverse, presented by [your brand]”), top billing across all event collateral, category exclusivity for the event, a speaking moment, branded finish line, and two team places.
Supporting Partner
$5,000
Logo across event collateral and signage, social acknowledgement through the campaign, recognition in the post-event report, and one team place.
Checkpoint or Activity
$1,500
Branding at a named checkpoint or activity on the course, plus a social acknowledgement.
In-Kind Support
Not every partnership is cash. SSAANZ welcomes contributions of outdoor and safety equipment, transport, venues, catering, media production, and professional services such as legal, accounting, or design.
In-kind support reduces our operating costs directly, which means more of every dollar raised reaches our members — valued at equivalent retail or market rate and recognised at the matching annual tier.
Digital Exposure Through the RV App
In 2026 SSAANZ is introducing RV, a members-only app that keeps veterans connected between events, holds their digital membership ID, and brings together news, community, perks, and wellbeing support. For partners it opens a direct, repeated channel to an engaged, values-aligned audience inside an app they open every week.
Every partnership includes a level of digital exposure that scales with your tier — clearly labelled as supporter content and carefully capped, so your brand is seen in good company rather than lost in clutter. The wellbeing and crisis area carries no advertising at all.
Multi-Year Partnerships
A three-year commitment gives your organisation certainty and stronger recognition, and gives SSAANZ the stability to plan and scale.
- Locked pricing for the full term, with no annual increase.
- Recognition upgraded one level for the first year as a thank you for committing early.
- Priority renewal and first right of refusal on category exclusivity in your sector.
- A standing place in the SSAANZ partner community and annual briefing.
What Your Partnership Funds
Every partnership translates directly into events, participation, and outcomes for veterans and their whānau. As SSAANZ grows its events calendar from around 12 to 24 events a year, partner support is what makes that growth possible.
- Element ($500) — Helps subsidise member participation so that cost is never the reason a veteran misses out.
- Sub-Unit ($1,500) — Can underwrite the core delivery costs of a regional outdoor event.
- Unit ($6,000) — Funds three fully subsidised Rest Stand Clear (RSC) places — a veteran facing health, financial, or isolation challenges taken care of, transport to gear to emergency provisions, three times over.
- Formation ($20,000+) — Funds ten fully subsidised RSC places, and can anchor the Survival Traverse and support national expansion.
RSC place figures are based on SSAANZ's confirmed full-sponsorship cost of $2,000 per RSC place (transport, food, gear, and emergency provisions). Other impact examples are illustrative and will be refined with verified per-event figures once confirmed with SSAANZ.
