OVERVIEW

 

 

Join us for a weekend kayaking Lake Tawarewa and fishing as we go. You can bring your fly fishing, spinning, trolling or jigging gear for the lake. We will also look into some hunting opportunities around the area as well as bush walking and viewing some glow worms in the evening. This weekend will start Friday afternoon and finishing up around mid afternoon on Sunday. We will be kayaking around the lake and camping on the lakes shores in the evening of Friday and Saturday. If you are keen to get out and relax this is a great outdoors trip to join.

 

 

SKILLS REQUIRED

 

 

No Skills required. If you have never set out on a kayak we will teach you the fundamentals along with teaching how to fly fish as well.

 

 

ACCOMMODATION

 

 

If you are planning to stay in the area for the activity please contact us if you need us to direct you to accommodation.

 

 

WHAT TO BRING

 

 

  • Clothing for fishing and kayaking in (wet gears advised)
  • Warm gear
  • Beanie
  • Sunscreen
  • Swimming gear (if you plan to swim)
  • Hat
  • A waterproof bag (gear will be going on the front of your kayak)
  • Camping equipment (tent, sleeping bag, underlay mat, cooking gear etc.)
  • Towel
  • Booties or Sneakers for wearing in and out of the kayak
  • Dry shoes for wearing around the campsite and bush

 

  • Fly fishing gear if you have this available otherwise we will be hiring this for you.
  • Kayak if you have your own otherwise we will be hiring this for you.
  • Fishing Permit for Lake Tawarewa

  • Please contact us if you are unsure if you can join us on this trip due to your health or fitness. You must be fairly fit to kayak.

The event will go ahead unless we have to cancel to any torrential weather. If this is the case then we will look into alternative options and try to contact you prior to the event commencement. Please also feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
